When the Northern Alabama town decided to aid Texas in her fight for independence, it was the women of Courtland that pulled together their resources and uniformed their glorious group of volunteers. These ladies made and dyed the men\u2019s uniforms and finally presenting them with a simple red banner to use<br \/>\nas a guidon and christening the unit, the \u201cAlabama Red Rovers\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Women of Courtland are a support of Captain Shackelford\u2019s Company of Alabama Red Rovers by being a team of like-minded women dedicated towards authenticity and portraying correct history.
